How can I get A press pass for professional sporting events?
I am currently in the process of starting a website geared towards sports.
I would like to write about what's going on with some specific teams, and try and create my own work regarding their happenings. The website will be legit, and copyrighted.... but what are my odds, and how do I obtain press passes?

Make sure you actually make collateral for your site, namely letterhead with your address, logo, and contact information. Well in advance of the game/event you would like to attend, send a letter to the team on the letterhead with what you would like to cover in your article asking for a press pass.
Always hit or miss on if you will get it or not, but if you have a solid reason and have a fleshed out idea, odds definitely go up. Also, be sure to follow up with the team to let them know that you are legit and not some fly by night operation.
