Shooting Candids...?
I love shooting candids, but I'm always afraid someone might think I'm stalking them. I use a Nikon N8008s film camera and a 70-300mm telephoto zoom. Is there anyway to overcome this awkwardness? Thanks.
Tell me about it. Once, I was shooting at an abandoned mental institution and got ran off by the cops. Luckily, they were nice and did not arrest me for tresspassing.
It really depends on where you shoot. You can find public places to shoot with lots of people, and just look like you belong there.
If you shoot at places like playgrounds, schools, parks, government centers, you will atract a lot of attention.
IF you shoot on private land, your asking for problems. From cops, to beatings, to druggies that would rather shoot and bury you (and keep your camera equipment), than discuss your hobby.
