How do you run with a water bottle?
I want to run in a forest preserve but I can't figure out how to bring a water bottle along with me without buying a water bottle backpack.
There are a couple of options:
1) Buy a "hydration belt". Basically a souped-up fanny pack that can hold water bottles. The most basic hold about 10oz of water, gradually increasing up to 40oz+. There are a few general designs to choose from, but they can get a bit pricey too.
2) Hand-held method. Just run with the bottle in your hand. Annoying, yes, but also your cheapest option. Or buy a grip holster so when you get sweaty your bottle doesn't fall.
Make sure to drink a lot of water in the hours leading up to your run so you don't dehydrate yourself. 5-8oz of water every 15-20 minutes is a general rule for most people unless it is really hot out.
